• Green cabbage (200 g)IMG_0339
  • Chili pepper, dried whole (10 g)*
  • Sichuan peppercorn (3 g)*
  • Sugar (20 g)*
  • Vinegar (10 g)*
  • Salt (3 g)*
  • Oil

*Amounts are approximate.


  1. Cut the cabbage into chunks.
  2. Cut the dried chilies into long, thin strips.


  1. Heat oil to a low temperature.
  2. Add peppercorn and chilies and fry until dark brown and fragrant.
  3. Add cabbage. Increase heat and stir fry quickly.
  4. Add salt and sugar.
  5. Add a small amount of water or cooking wine.
  6. Add vinegar.
  7. Taste and season as necessary.
